Giffnock Ivy - part of our fun day out in Glasgow

by Anthony
(Carlisle)

Hi guys

Thought I'd drop a line here to tell you about a day we had in Glasgow recently.

We came up from Carlisle, to visit the Burrell Collection and House for an Art Lover. We loved them both, and they're in the same part of Glasgow, really, so finding them was a breeze.

Anyway, before leaving home, we found Top Secret Glasgow on the internet, and we found that Giffnock Ivy wasn't too far away.

The car park round the back was a real bonus!

We found the restaurant with no problems, and had a FANTASTIC meal. They were so friendly, had our table ready for us (we'd called ahead with a reservation).

We settled down to chicken liver pate served with Arran oatcakes and red onion marmalade, followed by beer battered haddock that melted in the mouth.

Then it was back into the car and off to the next tourist attraction!

We had a fun day in Glasgow. Many thanks, Giffnock Ivy - and Top Secret Glasgow ;)

Anthony

Giffnock Ivy - a local treat
by: Sally-Anne

We were taken to Giffnock Ivy when visiting friends who are Giffnock locals.

It really is a local hot-spot, isn't it?

There was a lively, chatty atmosphere, and diners were all clearly relaxed and having a wonderful evening out.

The food was excellent. I had chicken liver pate on the crumbliest oatcakes around, and with a red onion marmalade.

Then I had a vegetarian pasta dish of the day. Delicious!

Next time we're in Giffnock, I'll make sure we have a return trip!

Best wishes,

Sally-Anne x

Sharing Giffnock Ivy - our little local secret!
by: Roddy

Hello, fellow Giffnock Ivy fans!

We've been clocking up one excellent meal after another in Giffnock Ivy for years now.

Its always nice to see a small, local business doing well. I think most business is local trade, which is also nice.

Mind you, I don't mind sharing our little secret with anyone who appreciates a meal as good as those served up by Giffnock Ivy! ;-)
