Looking After Granny - At Blas

by Sheila
(Melrose, Scottish Borders)

We visited Glasgow a while back, bringing my Granny. She wanted to see Kelvingrove Art Gallery, because she'd heard it had been refurbished.

The drive took 2 hours, and we parked at the Museum of Transport.

We were all gasping for a cuppa, and went into Blas to see if they could help. On weekend mornings, it turns out they serve coffee, scones and jam. Perfect to set us up of the Museum across the road.

My confession is that after "ooh-ing" and "ahh-ing" round the museum for about 2 hours, we went back for a spot of lunch!

Blas spoiled us for anything else, which is daft I know.

Granny needed a seat, and Blas is close. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!

Biggest Blas Fan - EVER ;)
by: Suzanne

I think some of the art on the walls is for sale. There were some lovely framed pieces, last time I went.

Although it was hard to stop staring at the view out the window. It dominates, in a good way, doesn't it?

Don't care what anyone else says or thinks... I AM the biggest Blas fan around! ;)

Concerned parent - coffee at Blas or kids tennis... (?)
by: Sam

Didn't know you could get a cuppa and snack like that in Blas. I called to check, and you're quite right.

Saturday and Sunday from 10am until they start serving lunch, appaerntly.

Thanks for the tip. While the kids are playing tennis in the park, I might just pop over and sample a scone or two myself.

Or should I wait for them to finish, do you think? (Just kidding. Of course I'll wait!)
