Making new friends in Glasgow

by Hans & Amatta Schlossel

We are Hans and Amatta, home in Germany after a very interesting week in Glasgow. We were staying with friends in the West End of Glasgow, and spent much time in the city centre. Your shops are so much better than ours in Munich!

Our friends took us to a bar that is also a restaurant and a small hotel. It is called Rab Ha's, after a local historical person, and is very nice indeed.

There was a fire buring to welcome us, and the people behind the bar were really friendly. In fact, we have made new friends, and are talking on Facebook all the time.

About Rab Ha's. It is warm and cosy, with a bar shaped like 'L'. Big windows let in plenty of light which is nice. It is near to all the busy streets, but is quiet and very relaxed.

We love Glasgow, and will be back in Rab Ha's before long.

Foods Good Too!
by: Allan

Rab Ha's has a really great atmosphere in the bar... and the restaurant in the basement is pretty good as well.

Scottish cuisine rubs shoulders with European styles, and portions keep even the hungriest of tummies happy!

Rab Ha's does look quite modest from the outside... but don't let thaf fool you. There's a LOT going on beneath that calm exterior!

I love it.

German friends in Glasgow
by: Ricky

Guten tag, Hans und Amatta!

I'm Ricky, in Glasgow. I spent 9 months in Munich when I was studying German at Stirling University. I love your city - especially the trams and the beer cellars!

I have to admit to being a fan to Rab Ha's too. Glad you found them to be as friendly as that. You couldn't meet a nicer bunch of folks.

Did you know they have a few tables outside, on sunny days? Make sure you come back in the summer!

Regards

Rab Ha's is just right when...
by: Wendy

How nice to read that you had a fun time in Glasgow - and that Rab Ha's was a big part of it!

I like Rab Ha's because it sides just round the corner from lots of busy streets, but somehow seems to stay calm and relaxed. Just right if you're out shopping, and you need to recharge your batteries!

Its also a good place to head for if your enjoying one of Glasgow's many festivals, like the Merchant City Festival, Triptych Festival, Celtic Connections and the annual jazz festival.

Apart from that, its a cool place to visit at any time of the year!

C U at the bar!

Cheers

Wendy
