That stretch of Sauchiehall Street needed somewhere of this quality. I agree with your assessment, Top Secret. From the outside there is very little to see. But inside, those smiley wait staff, cool decor and totally tasty food are to die for. Whoever said that Tempura us just 'deep fried veg with spicy jam' has never been to Nanakusa... I used to live in New York for 5 years... you can get ANYTHING there, and the quality is usually the very best. But Nanakusa was better than any Japanese food I've ever been lucky enought to taste. Charming service, a menu with a mix of classics and brilliant new takes on Japanese food. This place deserves its reputation. Well done, guys... Thomas Rating Cool sushi with Hubby by: Annie Nanakusa is such a FUN place to try out! In the evening, after a busy day, I like to meet my hubby for dinner here. He has to watch his weight - just a little - and sushi is a really healthy option for him ;-) Happily, he LOVES sushi, and the choices served up by Nanakusa are the BEST AROUND, in my humble opinion.
