Hidden just out of sight from Byres Road is The Bothy in quaint Ruthven Lane.

This is the perfect setting for such an equally quaint restaurant, which feels like a dining room from times long gone by.

Clearly happy to be Scottish, The Bothy often has wait staff in kilts while they serve up fondly remembered classics from Scottish cuisine. Just like Granny used to make.

And then The Bothy surprises by offering up classics with a more worldly approach, bringing us a ‘Scottish-eclectic’ menu to please everyone.

So you might find a classic like beer battered fish and chips tempting you, along with cheery old macaroni cheese.

Perhaps something more European like crayfish risotto sounds good? The Bothy will keep every diner happy.

Small wonder The Bothy has become something of a fave West End diner.
