Uber Cafe = Uber Cool!

by Graeme
(Paisley)

Here's what I LOVE to do, when I get the chance.

Go into Waterstone's on Boots Corner (locals will know I mean the corner that marks the junction of Union Street and Argyle Street!). I lay myself open to the charms of the '3 for 2' offers, then disappear round the corner to Uber Cafe. I try to get a seat up in the mezzanine level, and stick my nose into my new books.

Heaven! And Uber Cafe is so cool, only very few are in the know, which suits me down to the ground.

Anybody else ever do things like that? It isn't anti-social. It's just you need peace to find out about your next reads, don't you?

Graeme x

Top local secret cafe-bar...
by: Mark P

I'm with you on this one, Graeme!

I usually hit Waterstone's on Sauchiehall Street. I can never wait to get stuck into my new books.

I took your advice and went to the Boots Cornet Waterstones, then had a fantastic, quiet hour over a pint in Uber Cafe. What a cool wee place to find out about.

Can't decide whether to tell friends, or to keep the secret to myself...

Thanks again

Mark

Super Soup & Sanny ;-)
by: Janet

I found Uber Cafe by chance. I had been shopping, and was heading back to my car in the Mitchell Street NCP.

I thought I could probably reach it by going up a lane I was passing. Sure enough, I could. But then I happened on a cosy looking cafe bar. I'd never seen it before - and I was peckish...

In I went, and ended up with a bowl of soup and a tangy spiced chicken sandwich. Let me tell you - I'm a regular these days. A trip into Glasgow wouldn't be complete without a pit stop in Uber Cafe.
