The Sisters Restaurant Jordanhill

fancy dinner at your “sisters”?

why should you go to The Sisters Restaurant Jordanhill?...
Welcome to the family and one of our favourite "secrets". Pull up a comfy chair and get ready to be spoiled a little by a pair of real sisters. Twinkly lights and twinkly smiles from staff taking your tastebuds on a tour of Scotland’s finest with a detour across the Med here and there. Some truly special signature dishes and homemade everything. Quality and Value break some freshly-baked soda bread together…

what's it like inside?...
Welcome to the family. Real sisters. Real nice. One is your chef; the other is your host. Take a seat in comfy chairs or extra comfy plumply-cushioned booths and relax while Jacqueline and Pauline spoil you a little. A touch of drama around the drapes and twinkling fairy lights complete this special rooftop setting.

how are the staff?...
The twinkly lights must feed off the twinkly smiles from the efficient and friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble when you’re round at your “sisters” for dinner. A sense of pride in the menu is clear and everyone is well-versed in what’s what. Ask and it will be done, all with unstuffy grace.

what's the food like?...
This is a taste of Scotland-sur-le-Med (if that was geographically possible). The challenge is more what NOT to order from the treats on offer. Dingwall haggis… Stornaway black pudding… Ullapool smoked salmon… Limerick ham… Arisaig venison… your tastebuds are on a culinary tour of Scotland’s finest. And gotta love those “Jenga” chips…

what's the speciality of the house?...
Look out for quality Scottish produce everywhere in The Sisters Restaurant Jordanhill… puff candy ice cream… homemade soda bread… and those “Jenga” chips…

what's good in your glass?...
A fair selection of wines and Bombay Sapphire gin propping up the gantry always gets my vote. A mean cappuccino is accompanied by homemade tablet, a candied Scots delicacy. Just remember never to scoop it up from your saucer and plonk it into the cup as a sweetener. It’ll sink like a stone and remain resolutely a “sugar lump” to be reckoned with. Pop it in your mouth instead.

what else should you know?...
The original home of The Sisters Restaurant Jordanhill (in Glasgow’s West End) is a secret indeed. In fact, if it’s to be your first visit, you might be best to take a cab given its “hidden” location in the roof of a quaint row of mews shops and accessed only from the car park around the back. The entranceway also serves as a tucked away patio for alfresco eating if Glasgow’s weather allows.

is it good value?...
Amazing value from our sisters, especially with fixed prices for 2 and 3 courses taken from a menu full of options fit for “a la carte” status.
