The Crowne Plaza

Stunning Views of Nearby Science Centre and Clyde Auditorium

STAY in elegance in a stylish hotel

why should you go?...

The Crowne Plaza adds a slice of American-style cool to the banks of the Clyde, resting at the centre of the most sci-fi modern area of Glasgow. Step inside, and enjoy the airy space of the lobby. In your cosmopolitan room, enjoy the newly refurbished contemporary feel, and gaze out the window along the river.

Perfect for attending concerts, exhibitions and events in the neighbouring SECC and Clyde Auditorium (known fondly as The Armadillo because of its unique curving shape), the hotel caters for individual leisure travellers as well as it does for large corporate groups and coach parties.

who goes there?...

Business people, SECC and Armadillo event/concert/exhibition attendees.

what's it like inside?...

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is a modern, shining mirrored tower sitting by the river Clyde and close to the SECC and Clyde Auditorium. Across the water from the Glasgow Science Centre, Millennium Tower, and the IMAX cinema, the overall look is very science-fantasy.

Inside, the hotel is big and bright, spacious and airy. Capable of hosting large events for corporate guests, as well as looking after the leisure traveller, The Crowne Plaza runs like clockwork.

how are the staff?...

A professional smile and welcome greets guests to The Crowne Plaza. There is the overall atmosphere of being in a plush hotel somewhere in downtown New York or Los Angeles. Except for the tartan touches to the staff uniforms. Friendly porter, bellman and concierge services are available as standard.

what's going on in your room?...

There are spectacular views from most rooms and suites, facing either upriver towards the city centre and Kingston Bridge, or downriver towards the Science Centre and the newly emerging Glasgow Harbour district skyline.

All 283 guest rooms and 15 suites are air-conditioned, have private bathrooms and free wireless internet access. Room refurbishment was completed in 2006, complementing them with a cool, contemporary feel.

what's the speciality of the house?...

The Crowne Plaza is probably one of Glasgow’s top hotels that caters best for large corporate events.

what's good out of your room?...

A private swimming pool with steam room and sauna awaits those seeking some quiet time, and a gym for guests. After the exercise, relaxing in the spa or heading for the bar and restaurant may well be next on the list of treats.

what else should you know?...

Guide dogs are welcome at The Crowne Plaza.

The hotel recently won two Hotel Review Scotland awards: Glasgow Hotel of the Year 2007, and Scottish Conference Hotel 2007.

is it good value?...

There are regular offers on rooms for long weekends, and offers in conjunction with events and exhibitions at the SECC and ‘Armadillo’ concert hall. Offering elegance and in an ideal location, prices are indeed reasonable – you won’t have to dig too deep to stay at The Crowne Plaza Hotel.
