Fine Food at Roastit' Bubbly Jocks

by Bob Watson
(Toronto, Ontario)

Hi there

Bob here - back in Toronto after a fun vacation in the West of Scotland.

We were tracing some family tree connections, and spent a few wonderful days in Glasgow.

Trying out places that locals love is one of our best things to do, when we're exploring a new city. Roastit' Bubbly Joks was mentioned to us by a keeper in the Kelvingrove Museum.

She told us it would only take us 15 minutes max to walk - and on the way we saw PLENTY local life and colour!

The food was just what we'd hoped for. Lots of haggis (which we love), and black pudding - our new guilty secret!

Staff were a delight - helping us with the menu and making sure we were enjoying everything.

We may be 3,000 miles away... but we'll be back for sure.

We think our lunch in Roastit' Bubbly Jocks was the highlight of our trip!

Slanj!

Bob & Nells Watson x

Impressing the Yanks at Roastit' Bubbly Jocks!
by: George

When I had some Americal friends visiting recently, I decided to take them to Roastit' Bubbly Jocks.

They always talk about trying to experience as much 'real' local culture, as well as taking in the big tourist draws.

Sounds fair enough to me. So a walk down Gardner Street, and onto busy Dumbarton Road with all its tiny shops that give it so much character, was on my mind.

Then into Roastit' Bubbly Jocks for haggis, neeps and tatties followed by cranachan.

They loved it! They've travelled the world, and were chattering to people at the next table about how much fun everything is here.

And they stuffed their faces, so I think they were being sincere!

I'm sure they'll want a return visit, next time they visit... Can't wait!

Roastit' Bubbly Jocks - our local secret...
by: Nicola

We love Roastit' Bubbly Jocks!

I think their home made soup is almost as good as the soup my Granny used to make... That's a HUGE compliment, trust me ;-)

We love honest-to-goodness Scottish meats and hearty vegetables like turnip, swede and carrots. We're not, alone, either. It can get pretty busy, with locals happily filling the place!

Booking in advance for Roastit' Bubbly Jocks is a good idea.

Along a bustling stretch of Dumbarton Road, its quite easy to miss, hiding behind those Venetian blinds... But its well worth checking out this little local treasure.

Enjoy!

Nicola x
