Passing Myself Off as a Local Expert...

by William
(Canterbury, Kent)

Just to say a BIG thanks for your review of Two Fat Ladies at The Buttery.

I was visiting Glasgow on business, and I needed somewhere to take clients for a decent meal, and I really wanted some peace and quiet.

Staying at Crowne Plaza Hotel for an exhibition at the SECC, I also preferred somewhere nearby, if possible.

This place came up trumps on both counts. My clients had been to The Buttery, but not since Two Fat Ladies took over.

I think they were impressed by my local knowledge. LOL

I've been to Glasgow lots of times before, and always enjoy myself. I kept my secret about the review from Top Secret Glasgow.

Again, many thanks. I'll be back for more advice before my next trip. Can't wait!

Try These 4 Size
by: Philip

You might want to try Two Fat Ladies at The Buttery, William. Oh, you've done that already! ;)

For free time, get yourself to Byres Road, and check out Ashton Lane and Cresswell Lane. PLENTY to choose from there.

On duty, you might want to think about Killermont Polo club for what I think is the best curry in Glasgow, and its in a lovely setting. Tables in the conservatory have the best atmosphere.

Really posh food at Gamba is in the Two Fat Ladies kinda style. Of course, if you have deep pockets - and an expense account - The Bistro at One Devonshire Gardens is the place to go...

Glad you find us so friendly! Glasgow's a great place to live.

Hope the business trips are a success.

Cheers

Philip

Next Trip
by: William

I'll be up your direction in a month, staying for a full working week this time.

So I'll be on the lookout for more than one decent place to eat - both with clients and off duty. There's plenty to choose from these days.

I find Glaswegians so FRIENDLY compared with the rush of London life...

They totally Are!
by: Philip

Thanks for the best wishes!

2 B honest, I'm not in a rush - and neither is Anne - my lucky lady ;)

I promise to let you know how it goes.

At the moment we're having a good time going out a lot. And with that in mind, I can tell you that the other Baby Grand restaurants are all just as good.

The 1st one is near where Byres Road meets Dumbarton Road in the west end. The one near Blythswood Square in the city centre is bright and breezy, full of busines people and peeps headin to the theatre.

The 4th Two Fats restaurant in The Shandon Belles, and is in the basement of The Buttery.

That space used to be The Belfry.

Each has a different feel. But the food is consistently fabuluos.

Take any clients to any Two Fat Ladies and you'll be setting a high standard!

WHen's the next trip?

News!
by: William

I agree - keep us up to date with happy developments!

And tell me this, if you can. Are the other Two Fat Ladies places as good as The Buttery?

I might be in Kent most of the time, but I visit Glasgow regularly. Lucky me! ;)

About to Pop the Question...
by: Philip

I took my girfriend and her parents to Two Fat Ladies at The Buttery last week. I was hoping to impress them cos I hope they'll be my in-laws before too long! (Please don't tell them!)

I'm pleased to report they were VERY impressed. They liked the reception area, the art on the walls, and the courteous service. So that went well!

Maybe I'll push the boat out and make my proposal there, when I'm ready. FIngers crossed.
