The Doocot Cafe - What a Pleasant Suprrise!

by Sandy Richardson
(Wilmington, North Carolina)

Had to write to let you know what a WONDERFUL time we had in Glasgow earlier this year.

We'd been told about the funky exhbits in The Lighthouse, but no-one thought to mention the unique cafe up in the rafters!

What a pleasant surprise!

Amazing views across the downtown skyline from the top floor lobby, and delicious fresh-made food.

I had a bowl of mushroom soup and a sandwich of roast beef and horseradish, along with a fine cup of coffee.

Just what the doctor ordered, while we got ready to explore more of your city.

Fun times indeedy!

Don't go changin'...

Sandy

Fun lunch at Doocot Cafe
by: Angie

We were taken to the Lighthouse in a group, for an exhibition.

We met in the cafe afterwards, for a soup and sandwich. We LOVED it... and tried chatting up the waiter, but he was just TOO BUSY... and professional ;-)

Did you notice the really funny signs for the toilets? Hilarious, and cool in their own strange way...

Anyway, the Doocot Cafe made our day in the city extra special.

Try it some time - you'll love it as much as we did.

Lucky to have the Doocot Cafe...
by: Samuel

I'm happy to hear about someone from out of town (out of the country!) finding the Doocot Cafe and Bar.

I work nearby, and it makes a really cool spot to go for lunch. Hidden up that lane, you can usually get a table, which helps too.

The food and service are just right, too. Friendly and informal, just like the whole Lighthouse building.
