Codename "treebeard"
Put down your weapon - we're all friends here.
Psst!... our VERY-close-second favourite place...
to stop for a couple of drinkies before or after your memorable meal here is...
and we love it because this is a haunt known only to locals - and boy do they love it! Near several busy streets, it stays out of sight, serving great pub grub and drinks while making sure an active live ents schedule keeps punters enjoying themselves.
[From Cafe Gandolfi walk to George Square and along St Vincent Street. At Hope Street turn right, and walk up the hill until you reach Sauchiehall Lane on the left. Walk up this lane to find Universal on the left. Well done! You've discovered a classic Glasgow secret bar-restaurant.]
... so do you want to know what's keeping those 'in-the-know' folks talking about Cafe Gandolfi?
It's... the sense of drama when you swing in through that over-the-top revolving door! Try to keep some dignity - don't take it too fast. Falling at the maitre d's feet wouldn't get your time in Cafe Gandolfi off to the best of starts...
Enjoy!

and we love it because this place is as much a Merchant City much-loved haunt as Cafe Gandolfi. Serving a good choice of ales, whisky and wine for decades now, punters can sit inside in winter, and out in the really funky beer garden in warm weather.
[Babbity Bowster is simple to find from Cafe Gandolfi, but remains a secret to many. Walk up Albion Street, turning right when you leave the cafe. At the top of the block turn right again into Blackfriars Street, and there's Babbity Bowster on the left.]
