 Citation sits proudly in one corner of the totally fab old Sheriff Court building. For years it sat empty, and rumours were rife about its fate. Finally, Glasgow welcomed new businesses into this classic building, and this gracious place is the best. Part luxury lounge, part tasteful bar and restaurant, style and simple clear lines are the name of the game. Pale cream walls, wooden floors and some exposed brickwork welcome guests. Take a seat in the bar area, out on the pavement terrace or out on the first floor balcony. Enjoy a tipple from the well stocked bar that also carries a rather good cocktail list. Then there's the food. Described as contemporary, everyone is sure to find something yummy. Dinner in the impressive restaurant might be steamed mussels and clams followed by spiced rump of lamb or puttanesca pasta. Lunch out on the pavement terrace could well include cosy scrambled eggs on toast, seafood linguine or Ayrshire bacon triple decker sandwich. Have fun here. This is a classy joint in a super-cool place and handy for lots of theatres in the city centre.
