Waterstones
Top Secret File
Codename "busybookworm"

Listen carefully... I will say this only once...
Psst!... our VERY-close-second favourite place...
for a quiet, relaxed drink before or after browsing the stacked shelves here is...
and we love it because it shines like a star in the middle of a concrete jungle that could only come from the 1960s.
Worth the effort of finding this wonderful local gem, for the atmosphere and chatty regulars who prop up the bat until all hours.
[Walk down Sauchiehall Street towards Charing Cross, turning left into Holland Street and then right onto Bath Street. Just after the King's Theatre, there is a short set of concrete steps to the left.
Trust me, this is correct! Head up there, and The Baby Grand is round the corner, on the right.]
... so do you want to know what's keeping those 'in-the-know' folks talking about Waterstones?
It's... the amazing range of books available these days. Everyone is catered for, from pre-school nippers to teenagers to fans of biographies to military history and travel guides. And everything in between.
Wander round this great book shop and let your imagination take over...
Enjoy!

Sssh!... our VERY top place...
for a quiet, relaxed drink before or after browsing the stacked shelves here is...
and we love it because it looks part gentleman's lounge, part bordello! Those low lights and all that rich red colours create the illusion.
But don't fret... Mine is a lively place to hang out. So get settled into one of those heavenly red sofas and chill with friends.
[From Waterstones, head along Sauchiehall Street towards Charing Cross. Turn left into West Campbell Street, then right along Bath Street. Mine is on this block, on the left.]
