The Sisters Jordanhill is hidden from view, and well worth finding. Run by (you guessed it) two sisters, their original restaurant is a gem.

The cosy dining area is all wood, candles and cushions, with a sloping roof and skylight windows.

Food is divine, their knowledge about the best of Scotland's larder being used to create meals of real perfection.

The basket of home-baked soda breads on arrival is a clue to the treats about to follow.

Expect haggis, langoustines, scallops, black pudding, Scotch beef and chips more like jenga pieces than food! And deeply hearty, gooey puddings, if you have room.

On Summer evenings, sit outside in The Sisters special little fairy garden, surrounded by twinkling lights and yet more candles.
